Teams of three apply and get matched with a real research group on the verge of spinning off. Each research group works with three teams, all tackling the same commercialization challenge. The competition kicks off with a 22-hour hackathon-style qualification round from Friday to Saturday, where teams battle to prove their strategy is the best. A jury of investors and research group representatives selects one winner per challenge—16 teams move on to the finals.
In the tournament-style finals, teams go head-to-head in knockout rounds, competing on product-market fit, key stakeholders & networking, and financing & go-or-no-go. The ultimate winner takes home €5000.
Finalists don’t just wait for the showdown—they attend exclusive evening workshops to sharpen their strategies and make a real impact on their research groups.
